“Despite coming to Beachside with only 1 week before the season started, the club allowed me to try out and gave me the opportunity to make the team. I don’t think many other clubs would have done this, but Beachside welcomed me with open arms. Obviously I still had to prove myself, as all players do there, but I am grateful that I got the chance to do so. From there, I was surrounded by players who had aspirations to take their game to the next level and coaches that wanted to (and did) help us do that. When I left beachside to go play in college, Mickey assured me that I’d always be welcomed back. “Looking back now, my time at Beachside was a very valuable and necessary part of my development as both a player and person. On the field, Beachside taught me how to become a more complete player, putting me in positions on the field I had never played in before and forcing me to solve problems as the game progresses.
